[Article 105]How To Shape A Meaningful 24/7 BDSM Relationship – “Knowing Her Place”, Part 2

by Hans Meyer at Wasteland

In Part 1 of this series, I covered the basics of the “knowing her place” paradigm that is often at the core of 24×7 D/s relationships.  Let’s go a little deeper into additional techniques that can be introduced.

Enhancing
There are several ways to enhance this situation. Make sure she is still wearing her shoes and spread some sugar on the spot where she is supposed to stand. By doing this, even the slightest attempt to shift weight or move her feet will create a cracking tell-tale noise.

Another effective way to enhance this scene is to make her stand ON something, such as a crate or a footrest. Whatever it is she is standing on, it will work as a scaffold or pillory in her mind. Having that object in that spot all the time will work as a powerful reminder during daily life. Put a plant on it if that is functional during everyday life – the fact that the “scaffold” is always present is very powerful, because she knows she can be placed on it anytime.

In the event standing perfectly still is not the sub’s best quality you may consider to help her – or teach her – by introducing forms of bondage. This will also – very likely – serve as an effective punishment for poor behavior.

The main idea again is to go for a combination of difficulty and frustration. In the event of a punishment it may be a very good idea to leave the frustration unattended (and unsatisfied) at least until such time she shows progress.

Again, the dominant partner needs to be firm here and while he will of course need to understand the situation and make very sure he is aware of both the difficulties, he may show compassion (in the sense that he lets his sub know he understands her difficulty and frustration), but this is no place for mercy. Once whatever the plan is has been set out – carry it out!

The bondage set up as shown in the picture is versatile for many reasons. The sub can either stand or kneel but not walk and the arm bondage, with the elbows brought towards each other, is demanding, stressing on the shoulders and back and pushes out the breasts. The gag will prevent her from any attempt to talk (or whine) and especially in this position she will have to work to maintain her balance.

Why Put Strain On The Sub?

Quite a few submissive women have a tendency to submit to – basically – what they want. The idea behind behavior correction is to bring the point across that if they want to submit, they should submit to the dominant partner, not to their own dreams, desires and fantasies.

Of course there will be sufficient room for these – the point however is that they have a place within the context of submitting to the dominant partner. That is why acceptance is so important and acceptance can usually only be reached if and when the sub is brought close to or beyond her own boundaries, without the immediate benefits of (sexual) satisfaction.

This de facto means that techniques such as these are probably more suitable for what is generally known as 24/7 or “lifestyle” situations, in other words for those, who consider BDSM a bit more than a kink or a fun (sexual) play form.

Kneeling down, especially for a longer period of time, is something quite a few subs will have a problem with, no matter how hard they may fancy this. Which is why, when it comes to motivation-testing and creating acceptance through keeping her in one position for a longer period of time, kneeling is probably not a good idea.

The average western submissive will be able to kneel down for fifteen to twenty minutes maximum, before serious pain starts hitting the kneecaps and the calves start to cramp. Although long time kneeling is something that can be learned and trained, such training requires many years and actually quite a bit of technique. So it might be easier to resort to alternatives, which may not necessary be easier to do, but less painful and damaging to the kneecaps and joints.

Especially if you are planning to let her sit in a submissive position for a longer period of time, what you may want to do is opt for an “all-fours” position (i.e. on hands and knees).

The Position

Paying some attention to exact position pays off. What you want is an optimum between her ability to maintain the position, a nice view and submission. Experienced Doms have come up with some helpful specifications:

• Arms straight and hands – fingers forward and stretched out – on shoulder wide distance (this makes sure the shoulders weight is directly above the hands and the support is in an optimal downward line with the elbows “locked”.

• Legs slightly spread, the knees lining up with the hands (the weight of the bottom will now be resting on a pyramid, which offers more support and relief’s the pelvis.

• Lower legs angling outward, the extended line of the legs making an imaginary 90 degrees angle (this protects the knees from having to make an unnatural bending which may be damaging to the knee joint and it moves the kneecaps away from the pressure point)

• Back straight and head down (which automatically helps to maintain a straight spine)

This creates a position that is actually not only easier to maintain, but also offers the Dom more options, such a direct access to her private parts (and a view) and her butt and back are in a good position for punishments or corrections, should these be required.

At the same time, since the position itself is less stressful, more attention can be paid to perfection.

Should you wish to apply nipple clamps: the breasts are now hanging free and any weights, hanging from them will in no way be supported by the body so their effect will be maximum.

Finally, her own body partially blocks her line of sight and she can even be ordered to keep her eyes focused on her own private parts which will quickly add the value of humiliation to the experience.
